Over at Digital Web Magazine, Rachel Andrew has an article posted titled “Everything You Know About CSS Is Wrong”. She explains the changes made to IE8 that (finally) allow programmers to utilize new values for the CSS “display” property, and gives several examples of how these can be applied to table layouts.

(Now, it’s true that a lot of you folks aren’t using IE of any flavor; you’re using Firefox. We programmers still have to make sure that our web sites look decent through the tainted lens that is Internet Explorer. IE is like the crabby relative everyone caters to even though half the things he/she says are wrong.)

The article is actually a chapter excerpt from her new book by the same title, co-written with Kevin Yank. “Everything You Know About CSS Is Wrong!” is available from SitePoint Books in both soft- and hard-copy. Check it out, and update your CSS skills!
