BCS Schedules Recruiting Event For Women In IT
For those of you in the UK, or those of you able to make travel plans to be there in February, consider attending the British Computer Society’s W-Tech 2009.
Here’s a little back info on the BCS: founded in 1957, according to their site, BCS is the “leading body of those working on IT” and its goals are to “promote the study and practice of computing and to advance knowledge of and education in IT for the benefit of the public”.
BCS is holding a free event on February 3, 2009 in London with the specific aim of recruiting women who are currently working in - or hope to get into - the field of IT. According to their Social Media Executive (!), BCS is hoping that W-Tech 2009 will be the biggest recruiting event in the UK for tech women.
More information will be posted here on dotFiveOne as I get it, but in the meantime, be sure to check out BCS and learn more about the great work they’re doing in information technology. (I, for one, am checking out their podcasts and blogs!)
