Pingdom on “Women In Open Source”
I came across this article today whilst proofing other things, and found it so interesting I thought I’d pass it along.
A few weeks ago over at Pingdom (*great* name for a site, by the way), an article titled “Women in Open Source” was posted. What I loved about this post was the positive tone about how many women are active in the open source community. It was the perfect antidote for all of the “Why Women Are Leaving Tech” articles that have been posted recently.
And here’s something even better: a list of ten different groups “devoted to just women and Open Source”. I knew about a few of them, but didn’t realize there were so many with such specific focuses.
Definitely a cool thing to read with OSCON coming up! (I, for one, will be wandering about wearing a lime green “.51″ shirt next week. Will you be there?)
Check out Pingdom’s post, then visit the sites of the folks they mention. Be sure to give ‘em a shout out for such great content!

I’ll be at OSCON — stop by the Linux Pro magazine booth and say Howdy!

I’ll do exactly that! Look for a geek in a lime green t-shirt with .51 on it!
