“Women In Open Source” Biblio over at Linux Chix
What a find this was. I was cruising the Linux Chix site, looking for new and interesting stuff, and found this page *full* of pieces from women about women in Open Source and Free Software.
This page includes Val Henson’s “HOWTO Encourage Women In Linux”, a piece I’m still working my way through. Some of it doesn’t seem as if it applies to my world very well, but I’m learning new things nevertheless and know that it’s damned well worth finishing.
Also must reads:
- Dru Lavigne’s “Using Open Source to Remove Barriers For Women In IT” (there’s an mp3 as well as the slides)
- Kirrily Robert, “Geek chicks: Second thoughts”
Check ‘em out, and then come back here and tell me what you think.
