Stargate Worlds: Beggin’ for beta access
What’s the point of being an ubergeeke with a beta account if the damned server isn’t live yet?
All lamenting aside, after taking the advice given by Erin over at play-girlz.com (and I’m soooooo serious about that dash, people), I got myself an account on the Stargate Worlds site. That would be great, except the beta server doesn’t seem to actually be in beta yet.
Sigh.
I didn’t think I’d miss Stargate: SG-1 , but I do. I even tracked down a copy of "The Ark of Truth" , which was way trickier than one might think: it took me over two weeks after its official release to find a copy. I liked it when Mitchell and Vala joined the cast, though I’m a huge Farscape fan, so that was to be expected. And believe me when I say that I wouldn’t mind shooting down a few Go’auld, so bring on the damned game already. I need something to distract me from the fact that I’m ignoring my $160 million ISK Gallente Hyperion in Eve Online .
I hope the graphics and game engine do the series justice. Admittedly, Stargate Worlds will have to be one hell of a game for me to give it the kind of attention I’ve only given to Diablo (many years ago), Diablo II (which took for-EVER to show up), and Eve Online, my current obsession. But if someone hears anything - and I mean, *anything* - about Cheyenne Mountain hinting about beta server access dates, drop me a line at ubergeeke@dotfiveone.com and I’ll see if I can find a present for you.
