Quick update on the BSD Project
I’m now at the tail end of my PC-BSD vs. DesktopBSD research. I must say that I’m strongly leaning towards DesktopBSD because I like the look of their package manager. I can’t say how many times I’ve had to deal with package issues in Linux, and the easier it is to update packages, the happier I’ll be. Additionally, there’s some app support that’s already part of the DesktopBSD build - Firefox and Pidgin in particular, which I use daily.

So, for now, bye-bye PC-BSD; hello, Deskto BSD. And the project has been renamed “The Great BSD Experiment”. Back to checking for hardware compatibility. More news as it happens.
