popSiren: the antidote for G4tv

I really want to love G4tv . It’s a geekfest: video games, convention coverage, Star Trek, more video games, tech information - nearly everything I could ask for. But I can’t get past the impression that all the women are essentially booth babes who’ve been given a promotion. I know they’re smart, but they’re certainly not advertised that way. I click on, then inevitably and in frustration, I click off. So, no over-loud, high tech, graphic-heavy media blitz for me.

But wait! What’s that in the distance?

popSiren!

Sarah Lane and Jessica Corbin (with pals) offer up morsels of "modern culture, technology, science and making stuff that actually works". Tasty! Plus, I found out about a Joss Whedon comic I’d never heard of, strange as that might seem, so more points in their favor. This show has great content (references to "Zombie Strippers" aside) and has a kind of Hak5 flavor about it, though it’s not computer-centric.

New episodes are posted weekly, so check out the latest and give ‘em some electronic love if you like it.
