More Star Trek: “Uhura” Returns, and Koenig Branches Out
Not too long ago, I posted info about “Star Trek: Of Gods and Men”, an independently filmed and produced Star Trek film. The first two parts of the movie are already available for viewing online, and the third will be available on June 15th, 2008 (or sooner). In the last installment, we will see not only more of Nichelle Nichols’ Uhura, but also of Walter Koenig’s Chekov and numerous other familiar faces from the various Trek incarnations.
There are some new faces in Part III, including Grace Lee Whitney (Yeoman Janice Rand from TOS), and - dig this - Herbert Jefferson Jr. of the original Battlestar Galactica (he played Boomer). *That* should be interesting.
Visit the site for more information. It’s listed below a massive promo about Koenig’s other film “Inalienable”. Seems there’s quite the side business for these guys who are famous for legendary science fiction roles, but who aren’t doing so much in the mainstream as of late. I’ll check out “Inalienable” this weekend and let you know if it’s any good. (Knowing me, I’ll probably order “Roddenberry On Patrol” as well. )
