IEEE Women in Engineering: April News for WIE

The Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE ) Women in Engineering Society occasionally publishes a newsletter for members, but I thought I’d post the most recent issue here to encourage any women who are engineers of one kind or another to consider joining.

April 2008 IEEE WIE Newsletter

While its primary focus seems to be to get women *into* engineering rather than showing off what women in engineering are already doing (another reason to keep checking back here at .51 for information), there are some informative pieces with links to upcoming conferences in Construction, Mechanical Engineering, Welding, etc. Of particular interest is the upcoming Real Life Engineering Projects seminars, which may apply to more folks than just first-year engineering students.

Check it out, then drop a line to ubergeeke@dotfiveone.com to tell me what you think, and if you want to hear more about the IEEE WIE.
