Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season 8 #14 Available Today
There are a few guys who get a golden pass at .51 , and while I might get flamed about it, I’m a big girl who can take the heat. Joss Whedon is such a man, and he is my master now. (Sorry, George Lucas. You lost me when you edited out Han shooting first .) Sure, Joss has screwed up a couple of times. And I believe him when he says he didn’t know about the cliche that killed off Tara . Overall, though, he’s earned plenty of points with me, and for that reason, Buffy continues to get the love.
I stayed away from a lot of the Buffy comics and books that came out during and after the series, but was intrigued when I found out that the new series was a continuation of the canonical storyline and (bonus!) published by Dark Horse Comics . It’s perfect and By The Book: Xander’s got his eyepatch, Willow is both a monster hacker *and* a super witch, Faith is still - well, Faith. And Buffy is as kick-ass and self-doubting as ever.
The latest issue, "Wolves at the Gate, III" , is supposed to be available today. For folks who haven’t read the series yet, or are behind on any episodes, you have until the next issue to get caught up to "Wolves at the Gate, II", and then you’re going to see some major spoilers on .51 , so go! NetFlix whatever you need to watch, then get your hands on the comics!
Meanwhile, while I’m waiting for "Dollhouse" , I get my needed dose of Joss and the Scooby Gang.
